October. My favorite month. Jaime and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary, I spent many a night crafting Halloween costumes, and once his Kwazii Cat costume was complete, my son insisted on wearing the costume for almost an entire month straight. While I had intended to get outside and go on more adventures to new places, life got the best of me – so I had to make the best of what I had. And while certainly not the most complimentary photo of myself, I did make sure to include what I think is one of the most important images to have taken in 2020: a selfie of me VOTING, to which I take this privilege very seriously. Here’s hoping the world starts to feel lighter, less anxious, more loving and less angry starting the beginning of November. Fingers, toes, eyes and everything else crossed.

To think pre-COVID, I set off on this 365 photo journey with well intentions and a theme word of the year: grace. And hasn’t 2020 been the dumpster fire of a year to throw in all the hail Mary’s and ben and jerry’s ice cream? I have to remind myself to give me (and everyone else) handfuls more grace these days. I’ve been counteracting my mind with some lots of fresh air and sunshine, time hiking, walking and shooting outside. I’m still nostalgic of my 40 Days of Fall project and am thinking of resurrecting it again in 2021.
