I spent the majority of my day yesterday photographing employee portraits. The school portrait kind with a painted background and the standard “please take a seat, place your feet on the tape and straighten that posture!” x50. That’s just a little repetitive… say cheese!

Although I appreciate any time I get to use my camera, I just missed my friend Creativity. That is why I can’t think of any better way to spend the rest of my day than to take out my creative hat to photograph a portrait session. This family’s home was the perfect location for an outdoor photo shoot. I waded in the river, played in the garden, and crawled in the grass. For me it was Heaven.

I’ve always had a soft spot for blue eyes, but when this little Dude yelled “ice cream” instead of “cheese” he was an instant favorite. At the age of three, he already knows the way to my heart: ICE CREAM! He also tells me that he “can run faster than ducks!” I can attest, and am wishing that I could bottle up some of his energy for me. Alas, I will have to settle with my mocha fudge chunk ice cream while I get back to editing those employee portraits.
