Recently WPTZ Channel 5 interviewed me on the Irene Benefit Tee I designed. Inspired by a Calvin Coolidge quote, and printed by Deerfield Designs, this shirt is a mere $15, $11 of which goes directly to NOFA’s Farmer’s Emergency Relief Fund. I can’t think of a better Christmas gift than to support Vermonters in need while giving “wearable art.”
It has been two and a half months since Irene hit New England. And while Vermont has recovered miraculously, there are still people in need. The snow is about to start to fly – before we know it Spring will be here, and many farmers will be starting a long road of recovering their livelihood which was literally washed away in the floods.
Shirts can be purchased at Three Squares Café in Vergennes, and after Thanksgiving will also be available on Choose Your Own Adventures Online. They are also available here on Letter10′s website. We are close to hitting our $2,000-earned goal, and would love to sell the remainder before Christmas.
Thank you so much for those of you who have already purchased shirts, shared my mission and supported my endeavors. A special thanks to WPTZ for the story, Creighton & Jack at Deerfield Designs, Matt & Danelle Birong of Three Squares Café, Gaelen & Jasna at the Waitsfield Flood Relief Center, and Shannon & Melissa at Chooseco. Your support means the world to me and I am oh-so grateful!

While helping out friends who were effected by Irene, I witnessed some amazing people-power. Complete strangers offering to pitch-in on the efforts: people covered in mud while digging out basements, people dropping-by to offer food, water and Ben & Jerry’s, and otherwise complete strangers befriending their fellow Vermonters. The list could go on for pages…
