Tuesday, November 1, 2011. Day 40!
I have survived my second-annual 40 Days of Fall Project. Today is the last day, and I really stressed about what my last picture should be of. I wanted it to be something special, but honestly wasn’t inspired… and then out of the blue I thought of Mrs. Anderson, a person who helped to shape my appreciation of nature.
One of the reasons I became a graphic designer was because of an elementary school computer teacher, Mrs. “Ellie” Anderson. She also instilled in me a love of Macs and taught me a deep respect for the ocean. Some of my favorite childhood memories include field trips to her farm to race boats in the river, and the numerous whale watching adventures in Cape Cod. For my 8th grade graduation she gave me a whale fluke necklace that I still wear to this day. And inevitably every time I drive past Jim Sardonis’s “Reverence” Sculpture on I-89, I think of her.
Mrs. Anderson passed away this past September, and it is with deep gratitude that I am dedicating this year’s 40 Days of Fall to her. I am so thankful for her influences in my childhood and know she would be proud of the adventures I took the past 40 days.

Since it is Halloween I decided I should have a themed post. So I visited Downtown Winooski to see their pumpkin parade. Saw some cute kids in costume and sampled some cider – Vermont rocks! Have a safe and happy Halloween.
