I remember one spring afternoon when I was quite little… my best-friend Alison and I decided to pick my Mom some flowers. When we knocked on the back door, arms bursting at the seams with tons of tulips and daffodils, my Mom couldn’t help but smile. But then she asked where we got them from… and our answer?
“Your garden!” Â Â (I think it was pretty lucky for us that we were cute, and that my Mother is a patient soul.We managed to pick every single flower that afternoon!)
So this year, I’m giving my Mom some fond childhood memories, and pictures of beautiful Spring flowers. These will last far longer than a bouquet of the store-bought alternative. Thank you Mom for your patience. Thank you for loving me unconditionally even when I have picked every last flower from your garden. And thank you for passing on these traits to me, along with a few other awesome ones (creativity and craftiness, caring and stellar penmanship to name a few.) I love you to the moon and back, and hope I can someday be the same great Mother you’ve been to me all these years.
To all you other Mothers, a very Happy Mothers Day, I hope you spend the day creating happy memories with your family.
