This Holiday Season I am thankful for many things. Friends, family, food and Vermont are at the top of my list. And so I am inspired to start a new blog series I call “Good Things” – and I can’t think of a better subject than one of my favorite restaurants in Vermont.
I’m a firm believer that good people make good food and the owners of Three Squares Café not only happen to be good friends but also great people. The chef and co-owner, Matt, is a native Vermonter and graduate of the New England Culinary Institute. His wife, Danelle, is the yin to Matt’s yang (dirty minds out of the gutter) with her exceptional organization and people skills. Long story, short, they make a good pair and some really great food.
Stepping into the cozy restaurant on Main Street, you’ll see the regulars with their coffee, be greeted by friendly waitstaff, and served excellent food. Some of my favorites of Matt’s include his Turduckin, big breakfasts, and hot sandwiches. And it doesn’t stop there, they also cater! With reasonable prices, friendly faces and a full tummy, you’ll be glad you made the trip. Tell them Jamie sent you!
Pictured above, Matt and Danelle in action while catering a wedding this past October. Some yummy local-cheese offerings displayed beautifully, and some tasty appetizers. I’m hungry!
