Can I classify the image above as a self-portrait? Look closely, her eyes are so bright that I can see my silhouette in them! Awesomeness. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I am a sucker for blue eyes (and long, pretty eye lashes!) So you can see how much fun I had last Saturday with this adorable new family.
We played dress up, had a bottle, slept in a basket, had another bottle, and there was also lots of cuddle-time in between. The lovely Miss C is 3-months new, which is a vast difference from the fresh newborns I’m used to photographing lately. She was so alert, smiley, and animated. I have a series of pictures taken in succession where she has a vastly different, yet adorable expression in each shot, all taken within a few minutes. It’s pretty neat to watch, and even more fun to document. I think Baby C wants to be a photographer when she grows up, she was quite fixated on my camera. Thanks for inviting me into your home M-family, enjoy those fleeting moments, I’m told they grow really fast.

Do you remember a time when the only thing you needed to be happy was a nice big cookie and a romp outside in the snow? Well, for me, last weekend was a great reminder of the joy that children get from the simplest things… Mom’s memorization of “Clifford” the book, sharing your cookie with Dad after thoroughly licking it, and playing with your grandparents while cozied up in the living room made toasty by the wood stove… it’s those joys that make this job so worthwhile, capturing those moments that will last for generations – and a great reminder to appreciate the little things in life.
