Vermont Wedding Photographers at Old Lantern Charlotte VermontThe week leading up to this wedding I was doing the “anti-rain dance” – little did I know I should have done the anti-heat/humidity dance! Holy hotness Batman! That’s ok, because you know what makes up for sticky weather? Awesome people. And Kim & David certainly were awesome bearing the heat doing portraits at Oakledge Park, and their guests didn’t seem to mind – as the dance floor was PACKED! I loved their Heisman Trophy-themed table seating and football cookie gifts – a nod to how they got together. They also had the most adorable ring bearers, and Kim’s ring was to-die-for! All in all who cares about the weather, right?

June 2013 Free Desktop Calendar of RockFire VermontYet another month has come and gone, and with it, comes one of my favorite months. Normally June is the start of summer weather, and the temps are cooler. Well Mother Nature threw us for a loop this year, Saturday was the 1st, and the temps got close to 90. A little too warm for me, but hey, I was just happy it wasn’t snowing!

This image was taken last year at the RockFire Event in Websterville, Vermont (click here to see my photos from last year.) This is near and dear to my heart, as my mother-in-law grew up here, and my Uncle Pierre is the event creator and coordinator. Last year’s efforts helped to raise over $100,000 to match the town’s contribution towards the Barre Town Forest Preservation Project. And I can only imagine this years will be that much better.

June 21-23, the Millstone Trails Association (MTA) is hosting their second-annual RockFire Festival. RockFire is a unique combination of art, music, and fire, set amongst Millstone Hill’s granite quarries and historic ruins. This year, the two mile procession, lit by more than a thousand luminaries amongst parts of the Barre Town Forest, will feature six stage areas and twelve different musicians. Daytime experiences include an artists walk, historic quarry wagon tours and free admission to the granite museum. The number of sculptors and artists participating has doubled this year, enhancing the daytime experience too. There is an artists walk planned, as well as historic quarry wagon tours and free admission to the granite museum.

Jaime and I will be volunteering at it this year, we hope to see you there! Please visit RockFire’s website, or find us on Facebook! You can also see my photographs from last year here.
Until next month, Happy June!

Wallingford Vermont Wedding by Letter10 Creative

This blog post comes with a big huge asterisk attached to it. ***I was not their official photographer.***
That said, I look forward to what their photographer, Greg Geren, captured. But I simply could not help myself – what does a professional wedding photographer do at a wedding? Well, take pictures of course!

This past weekend my little brother got married. It was a beautiful day with gorgeous weather, love and merriment. I was honored when Heather asked me to photograph she and the girls getting ready. She was simply beautiful (inside and out!) At the reception we took them for a few relaxed portraits, which I loved because it was so “them,” but I think my favorite images are from their first dance. I just love how both of their eyes twinkle when they look at each other, and that they just seem so darn happy. G+H, I wish you many years of adventures together, and may every day be as beautiful as your wedding day. Happy (almost) one week anniversary!
